I say, "BAH HUMBUG" to:

• The gross commercialization of the holiday season
  
• Gifts given out of obligation vs. out of genuine desire
  
• Forced holiday cheer (Example: Corporate XMAS parties and strained holiday gatherings)
  
• People going into debt for gifts to "keep up" with everyone else and to give their children the holiday season everyone ELSE says they should have
  
• Condemnation for not sending out XMAS cards or buying gifts or [insert MUST DO tradition here]
  
• The sadness of those who become even lonelier during the Holidays

I say, "JOY TO THE WORLD!" to:

• Genuinely joyful giving from the heart whether it be gifts to friends and family or charitable donations of time or money
  
• Not forgetting those in need during this time of seeming plenty
  
• The celebration of the birth of Christ or Hanukkah or other traditions that spread good and peace
  
• Gathering together with true loved family and friends
  
• Getting time off to celebrate the season with family and friends
  
• Making the holiday season a true bright spot in what can be a very bleak and cold time of year
